Lynn Posner Rice
Lynn Posner Rice has been providing custom residential design services for new construction and renovation projects in Western Massachusetts since 1986. Lynn’s designs for over 40 new residences and more than 200 remodeled expanded homes emphasize energy efficient design, passive solar strategies, use of local materials and talent, and respect for the site and context.
Her design for the Northampton Friend’s Meeting House incorporates carefully selected systems and materials to promote a safe environment for chemically sensitive occupants. It is widely used by community and artistic groups desiring contemplative, accessible, acoustically positive meeting and performance space. Her headquarter building for Sinauer Associates, Publishers in Sunderland was designed to accommodate and enhance the progressive workplace philosophy of that client.
Lynn has taught architectural design courses at Smith College, Hampshire College, and the University of Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Master of Architecture degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
